Child Welfare and Adoption Society (CWAS) is a registered charitable non-government Organization (NGO No. S.5914/504), which looks after vulnerable children. Its headquarters are located at Nsambya off Ggaba Road in one of the suburbs of Kampala. It was established in 1958 by Fr. Rawlinson, a priest of the Society of the Mill Hill missionary Fathers to coordinate the social work activities of Catholic Child Care Institutions in different areas of Uganda.
We have surely registered many success stories at our different Homes like re-uniting children with their real parents/relatives, finding people of goodwill to foster & adopt them, and providing them with very good medical care, shelter, education, love, clothing, and proper feeding during their stay with us. More than 5000 children have gone through CWAS. These and more, are our motivation to do this work even more diligently. We have money-generating projects at each of our Homes like banana plantations, coffee plantations, Guest House, Abato Shop for Children wears, chairs, tents, and mattresses for hire. All these plus donations from the general public have seen us survive over the years.
That is why Nsambya Babies Home has launched a FundRaising Charity Walk that is scheduled to take place on Saturday 30th September 2023. The walk aims to raise funds for the Home in order to help with the medication of babies, contact tracing and re-uniting of families, and the home's daily necessities.
We shall start our 5km walk at 9:00 am with a short prayer, then march through Kampala Road, down to Jinja Road roundabout to Mukwano Road up to Nsambya Babies Home where we shall all converge briefly before heading back to our respective destinations.
We have availed donation/contribution tickets at different schools here in Kampala and different places of worship, especially catholic parishes, and at Nsambya Babies Home reception.
Fully branded t-shirts are readily available at 15,000/= Ugandan Shillings at Nsambya Babies Home, Nsambya Catholic Parish and Child Welfare Guest House, Tagore Crescent, Kamwokya. kindly make a donation or buy a T-shirt to support the course.
The fundraising charity walk is a great opportunity to show solidarity and compassion to the children of Nsambya Babies Home, who deserve a chance to live a happy life. It is also a chance to exercise and have fun with friends and family while contributing to a worthy cause.
If you are interested in joining or supporting the walk, please contact Nsambya Babies Home at +256772 621587 | +256 701 621587 or visit us at our offices for more information.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children. Let us walk for a cause!
